SGIC Beijing Representative Office Ceremony |

On June 26, 2008 Seoul Guarantee Insurance(¡°SGI¡±) successfully opened its Beijing Representative Office with a ceremony held at Kempinski Hotel Beijing, China. This is the second overseas representative office following the Hanoi representative office in Vietnam launched on October 2007. With more than 150 delegates ranging from the local and foreign companies, the ceremony was a highly meaningful event for SGI to seek new chances and relationships.
The guests included the senior Chinese government representatives, Chinese insurance & reinsurance executives, and other local and Korean delegates from financial institutions to general corporations. With their cooperation and attention, the ceremony enabled SGI to introduce itself and propose its vision in public.
The event was also dedicated to convey the company¡¯s intention to share the grief of the Sichuan earthquake. To express regrets and concerns for Sichuan, SGI planned to reduce expense for the ceremony to offer a donation to the Beijing City. The company made a contribution as a means to share the loss together.
To SGI, the Chinese market has a special meaning in that it has made to become the first Korean professional guarantee company to operate in the Chinese market. And because China is a country with so many expectations and fundamentals to future growth, SGI believes that the guarantee market will become enlarged and its expertise will be necessary in the challenge.
In the opening ceremony, Dr. Young-Min Baang, the president & CEO, emphasized that the company must take a significant part in improving guarantee system to vitalize the Chinese economy, and should always find ways to support Korean companies to enhance their performance in the region. Also, Dr. Baang expected the company profit portfolio will become more diversified than before according to the overseas representative office ready for new business opportunities.
